Our original shepherd’s hut, Thomas Hardy style, is romantically nestled in a peaceful corner of Cotna’s organic gardens down by the stream by the chickens & ducks and rushing hedgerows. On cycle route number 3 (London to Lands End) it’s just an off-road walk to the Cornwall South West Coast path, near some of the best of south Cornwall’s hidden beaches.
Ismay has a double bed and extra single bunk. A short hop across the stream is your kitchen hut, with the basic equipment you need for cooking & eating, either in the hut or under the stars by fire provided. The hedgerow shower is nearby with hot water and your own compost loo, the “poop coop,” is next to the chicken run. All a comfortable step up from camping, we’d say it’s just about glamping!
Ismay has been an oasis of calm, and in the spirit of Thomas Hardy, has proven the perfect place to finish writing my novel! The chickens and ducks have been excellent neighbours, listen out for the cronk of Ravens circling overhead and the Tawny owls at night. The whole stay has been tranquil and relaxed – can’t recommend it highly enough. Thank you. (Luke Phillips, Kent)
