Cotna Eco Retreat provides eco glamping & yurt holidays on the peaceful Cornish Roseland Peninsula. Cotna is surrounded by some of the most beautiful coastline in Cornwall and close to several family and dog friendly beaches around Gorran Haven. So come back to earth and relax on our organic smallholding in our hidden valley, which overlooks orchards, veg gardens, streams, and woodland.
You can stay in boutique style yurts (Gilliflower, Tregonna King & Fern Pippin), Shepherd’s Hut (Ismay), or the slightly more luxurious strawbale barn (Pengelly Orchard Studio). Cotna’s accommodation is self-catering; make the most of our home grown food by ordering delicious organic food hampers for breakfast and evening meals. Fresh salad leaves, golden organic eggs, sourdough bread, pesto, jams and chutneys are some of our specialities.
The Cotna Experience
We offer insights into organic and sustainable living through a range of courses for visitors to learn more about seasonal food & growing. See our Things to do page to find out more about Wild Food Foraging, Sourdough Bread-making, Seasonal Cooking and No-dig Gardening. We also offer the chance to step off the wheel of hectic life through personal retreats and meditation breaks
Gorran is a lovely traditional Cornish village, tucked off the beaten track near The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the proper little fishing village of Mevagissey . It’s popular with people who come back year after year because of its beautiful location, its sense of community and its great beaches & coastal path. Furthermore it’s not far from Truro & St Austell or Cornish landmarks like The Eden Project.
Cotna is much more than a yurt farm. We have 10 years of experience living and enjoying a low-impact and sustainable way of life, while following the permaculture principals of living in harmony with the land. In 2016 we won the Cornwall Sustainability Award for Best Contribution to Sustainable Land Management for Environmental Growth, reflecting our ethos and activity here at Cotna: Cornwall Sustainability Awards Highlights.
We are proud to be Business Members of Cornwall Wildlife Trust. As Cornwall’s leading local wildlife charity, the Trust carries out vitally important conservation and educational work throughout the county. Our support helps the Trust manage 57 nature reserves, providing refuge for nationally rare and endangered species. Cornwall Wildlife Trust runs a number of conservation projects across the county, on land and in our seas. We are very happy to help raise much needed funds for the Trust, so it can continue to protect Cornwall’s wildlife and wild places, now and for the future.
This has been a glorious week. The yurt is magical – like something from the Arabian Nights. And the wider space of Cotna is so perfect, soothing and positive. There’s nothing like waking in the night to hear owls, nothing to beat cosying up in the evenings with a woodstove crackling. Thanks for everything, and for sharing your dreams with us.
